Ben Affleck’s career and personal life have seen more variations than an opera vocalist’s octaves—he has touched the upper echelons of fame, while also suffering the worst backlashes from the depths of the internet.
Whether he’s putting on his director’s cap, delivering a show-stealing performance, or writing screenplays with the precision of a surgeon, Affleck always finds a way to grab your attention. With over 60 movie credits to his name, Affleck is a name to reckon with in Hollywood. And he is certainly not done yet!

Fresh off the tracks of his 2024 hit Air, Affleck is busy making it big at the box office this year with a sequel to his critically acclaimed film, The Accountant. But that’s not all he is working on this year, there are a few more projects he is currently involved in that one should be looking out for. Who knows, one of them might just rope in another Oscar for the Good Will Hunting star?
So let’s stop beating around the bush and let’s have a look at all the movies we will/might get to see Affleck in his familiar flair.
5 The Accountant 2 (April 25, 2025)
One of the most anticipated releases of this year, The Accountant 2 will see Ben Affleck return to one of his career-best roles. Living a dual life of an autistic accountant with a seemingly mundane life with a darker side that hides the underbelly of the crime world, the Daredevil star sees a reversal of his heroic Batman persona.
His character, Christian Wolff, helps criminal organizations “un-cook” their financial records to uncover thefts and uses his accounting office as a front for money laundering.

The first movie, which was released in 2016, was a box office success, earning $155.2 million against a meager budget of $44 million (via Box Office Mojo). While some critics took issue with its portrayal of autism, Affleck’s performance was widely praised—particularly for his sharp dialogue delivery and impressive martial arts skills. In March 2024, Deadline reported that Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, J.K. Simmons, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson would all be reprising their roles from the 2016 thriller.
So far, the plot of The Accountant 2 is still under wraps. What we do know is that it’s hitting theaters on April 25, 2025. We learned this from Deadline. With much of the original creative team back on board, it’s safe to say The Accountant 2 is poised to add up to another box-office triumph. Let’s just hope the sequel doesn’t balance out to a disappointment!
4 Rip (TBD)
Who says you can’t have fun at work? Especially with your best buddies? Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been really tight since their teens, and the two have worked on several projects together, even winning an Oscar. This time, the duo is reuniting for a crime thriller, Rip, centered around a group of unassuming Miami cops who accidentally uncover a massive pile of cash in a rundown stash house.

How will they deal with this unexpected dump of fortune? Will they divide and go their separate ways or hand it over rightfully to the authorities? That remains to be seen as Netflix keeps its cards close to its chest for now, leaving us wondering about the plot and release date.
And Damon and Affleck won’t be alone in this adventure; Teyana Taylor and DCEU’s Supergirl Sasha Calle will be kicking in for the ride in a project helmed by Smokin’ Aces’s Joe Carnahan.
3 Ghost Army (TBD)

Ben Affleck’s next adventure is set to dive deep into some pretty wild waters. No, we’re not talking about his Justice League cape or a mysterious Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice cameo. This time, he’s taking us to the Ghost Army. It’s like if Ocean’s Eleven and Saving Private Ryan had a love child, except this child would be incredibly sneaky—and also inflatable.
Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband is jumping into the world of inflatable tanks and military trickery. The story centers around a secret U.S. Army unit that used inflatable tanks, sound effects, and good old-fashioned deception to fool the Nazis during World War II (via Cinema Blend).

Ghost Army has been in the pipeline for years, and it seems like Affleck is taking his sweet time with this one—maybe a little too much time. After all, this project was first announced over five years ago. But we’re still in the dark. The release date? TBD. The production start date? Also TBD. But knowing Affleck, he’ll pull it off with style, class, and probably a few surprises.
If we’re lucky, it’ll land sometime in 2025. But until then, we’ll be stuck watching reruns of Argo—waiting for that next big bombshell of a movie from the man who gave us Good Will Hunting and made Batman look cool again.
2 Falling To Earth (TBD)

Ben Affleck is about to take us back to 1925 Illinois, where a tornado didn’t just leave destruction in its wake—it transformed lives. Falling To Earth, based on Kate Southwood’s 2013 novel, is the gripping tale of a family that survives one of the deadliest tornadoes in U.S. history. Amid the wreckage, Affleck will portray a survivor who leads the charge in rebuilding a community left in ruins (via The Hollywood Reporter).
While this film has been floating in the ether since its announcement back in 2019, there’s still a lot to be sorted before the final cut hits the screen. But with Affleck’s star power, you can bet that this tale of survival, courage, and loss will make its way to the big screen eventually. Keep an eye out because when this one touches down, it will leave a mark.
But for now, it’s still a waiting game—no release date has been set yet.
1 I Am Still Alive (TBD)

An adventurer like Ben Affleck is always open to trying something new, and this time, he is planning to dip his toes, or rather his acting and producing experience, into the survival thriller genre. Back in 2018, Deadline reported that Affleck was looking forward to making his debut in the genre with an adaptation of Kate Alice Marshall’s novel, I Am Still Alive.

Taking elements from films like Wild and The Revenant, Affleck will be starring and producing the film. He will take on the role of an off-the-grid father who is responsible for taking care of his teenage daughter in the Canadian wilderness when a car crash kills her mother, leaving her injured. At the time of the announcement, Lori Evans Taylor was tasked with writing the script, but since then, there has been no news about the project nor an expected release date.
With a mix of thrilling action, deep drama, and good ol’ fashioned crime capers, his upcoming movie lineup is shaping up to be one for the ages. Whether he’s crunching numbers or fighting the forces of evil (real or inflatable), we’re in for a wild ride with Affleck at the helm.
So buckle up; Ben Affleck’s 2025 is bound to knock your socks off!
